Support Us

Outside of_Church

Because, at this point, we are a small congregation, we depend upon the gifts of our former members and friends to help us finance our ministry.  Certainly our current members provide the bulk of our giving--and are indeed very generous!--but we need outside assistance in order to carry out the work we believe God has called us to do.

Can you help?  Ongoing or one-time gifts are greatly appreciated--and needed!  Here are some options for supporting us...

  • Checks can be payable to Peace Lutheran Church and mailed to us at 105 Svenson Street, Holbrook, AZ 86025
  • Arrangements can be made for automatic deductions from your checking or savings account with either direct deposits to our checking account here at Peace or mailing a weekly/monthly/periodic check.  Contact us for details concerning how this can be done.
  • Use the convenient PayPal system above or below.  Just click the button and go!  If you don't already have a PayPal account, setting one up is quick and easy--and we'd appreciate it!

Are you a part of Thrivent Financial?  If so, this wonderful financial planning organization gives away millions of dollars annually to various Lutheran ministries worldwide.  Peace Lutheran is the recipient of several thousand dollars of benevolent money from Thrivent annually, all because investors have cited Peace to be their "Choice Dollars" recipient.  If you're a Thrivent member and haven't designated any ministry to receive your "Choice Dollars" money, we'd be grateful to receive these funds. Also, each Thrivent member has one or two "Action Team Projects" which can be done annually.  With each project comes a $250 VISA gift card to assist in the expenses of that project, which can be a fundraiser (e.g. Youth For Christ car wash) or service in nature (e.g. our Fall Work Day).  in 2018 we engaged in 36 Action Team Projects, totalling $9,000 of "seed money," benefitting both our congregation and many outside efforts (e.g. our local library).  If you're not a Thrivent member, we'd encourage you to contact these good folks for assistance in stewarding the resources God has given you.  Paul Meier is our local Thrivent representative and can be reached in nearby Lakeside at 928-367-6682, toll free at 800-795-3718 or

Each year over the Veterans Day weekend in November we sponsor a Christmas Bazaar.  Since beginning in 2013, we've seen our sales grow from $5,000 to last year over $16,000.  After we tithe our income (given to the Bread of Life Mission), the remainder of the funds go into our checking account which helps us end the year "in the black."  Our Bazaar is a lot of work but a lot of fun, too!  This year's Christmas Bazaar will be November 7-9 with setup November 4-6.   Might you have something you could contribute to this sale?  Rummage items, particularly furniture and other "big ticket" items, are welcome and can be stored here until the sale date.  (We even have friends in the Phoenix area who will pick up your contributions!)  Handcrafted items for the Bazaar (woodworking, craft and sewing products, artwork, jewelry, etc.) are especially needed and, on the days of the Bazaar, homebaked goods.  In addition to sale items, we'll need extra help those days and  especially during the set-up days just prior.  We hope to have a number of friends come to help us.  Might that be you?  Contact Pastor Jeff to volunteer or if you have questions.  -  For the last two years, we invited other non-profit organizations to come and set up a booth of their own, selling holiday-related items for their own treasuries--and several organizations have responded.  What fun it was to share the crowd and share the wealth with these good neighbors!  We'll do this again!

Following our Annual Meeting on February 24, 2019, we expect to engage in a mission enhancement campaign called Forward In Faith!  Our goal is to raise $150,000 over three years to strengthen the financial base of our congregation.  We're not planning any building or renovation programs, but we hope to restore our dwindling savings account, set aside a "rainy day" account for emergencies, increase our giving outside of our congregation from its current 4% to a full tithe (10%) plus finance a few other, small projects.  If approved, we'll engage the services of Pastor John Cross of Connections Stewardship Ministry to lead us in this endeavor.  We've already completed the assessment phase of this campaign and were much encouraged by the responses of our members/friends.  Pray that God's will be done in this matter!
