Friends in Faith

       Like any healthy congregation, we at Peace do not believe we are the only legitimite church in our community nor in the world.  Those who think thus are cults.  Using St. Paul's metaphor in 1 Corinthians 12 (vs.12-31), we believe we are only part of the Body of Christ--not its entirely nor even its most important part.  Nevertheless, we are an important and necessary part to Christ's Body (which is the Church), along with other important and necessary parts.

     We are the only Lutheran congregation in Holbrook and within a 30 mile area.  The next closest Lutheran congregation is a Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) congregation, Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 110 S. Main Street in Taylor, AZ 85939 (928-526-2210), 30 miles south.  The nearest Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregation is Faith Lutheran Church, located at 2750 Mogollon Drive in Overgaard, AZ 85933 (928-535-9575), 45 miles southwest.  There are two Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregations in Flagstaff, 90 miles west: Living Christ Lutheran Church, 6401 N. Hwy. 89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004 (928-526-8595) and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1601 N. San Francisco Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86001 (928-774-4832).
