History of Our Congregation

Outside of ChurchFounded in 1964, Peace Lutheran Church celebrated it's 50th anniversary in 2014--and what an occasion it was!  Members, former members and friends within the community packed our facility for our Saturday evening dinner/program and again on Sunday morning for worship and a luncheon.   Prior to that weekend, we spent a lot of effort giving our facility a facelift.  We're proud of what we did and how our church now looks! It was our Year of Jubilee and, as one of our banners declared, we "Raised the Praise!"  We put on a new metal

roof at the end of 2020.

Originally a mission of the American Lutheran Church, the congregation was a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for most of its existence.  In December of 2011, for a variety of reasons, Peace left the ELCA and joined the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ federation--a growing fellowship of evangelical Lutheran Christians.   We believe our best years lie still ahead!

Although proud of our Lutheran heritage and theology, we at Peace welcome believers of all traditions--and especially those unbelievers who are searching for God!  Our motto is: We're not just for Lutherans!  And we mean that!
